The Black Brook Salmon Club home pool at the confluence of the Southwest Miramichi and the Cains River is one of the most productive salmon pools in Canada. The excellent salmon fishing in this location has been known to fly fishers since the very early 1900s. The cooling influence of Black Brook combined with the reluctance of the salmon to go beyond this point in the river during periods of low water combine to make this an extraordinary holding pool. Above the brook on both sides of the river the pace of the water quickens and there is an abundance of excellent taking water. In addition to their Miramichi water the club also owns the largest stretch of private fishing water on the Cains River. The famous Admiral Pool water was fished by Wades Fishing Lodge during their entire 70 year tenure in business. Even with the reduced runs of recent years BBSC still manages to catch several hundred fish annually, and is famous for its production of 30-pound plus fish.
Beyond fishing the club offers first class accommodations and excellent meals taken in a handsome new lodge.
BBSC has long been a key supporter of the Miramichi Salmon Assoc. and has generously made two trips to their lodge available. Each trip is for two rods for three days of fishing. Everything is included except for liquor and tips. The dates are arranged by mutual agreement.
