Keith and Karl Wilson of Wilson’s on the Miramichi have kindly donated a spring Atlantic salmon fishing trip for two people. The trip Includes two days of guided fishing and three nights stay in a housekeeping cottage. Meals and tips are not included.
In 2019 Wilson’s had great spring fishing. Historically outfitters on the river grossed a large percentage of their seasons revenue from spring or kelt fishing. Often the biggest fish of the year are taken during the spring. The really large salmon are returning to the river for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time, and they are often reluctant to take a fly on their spawning runs. In the spring, though, the feed bag is on, and they will readily take large streamer flies fished on sink tip lines.
After an enjoyable day of soaking in the wild, early-season beauty of the Miramichi, relax with a view of the river, pour a couple of your favorite drinks, and toss a steak on the barbecue. It doesn’t get much better than this.
