Description
Here is a collection of 79 largely older feather-wing salmon flies and a few more modern hair-wings. All of the flies and hooks are rust free and in excellent condition. Many appear to have never been fished. The fly box is a vintage Wheatley Sil Malloy – special version of aluminum – and it has clearly seen signficant use, but is not dented and opens and shuts perfectly. Hoagy B. Carmichael gave these flies to the MSA US this past summer.
These could sit on your desk to remind you of the great sport of Atlantic salmon fishing, or they would make a great to fish with. They would be especially appropriate for a bamboo rod salmon fisherman to complete that classic feel while still using thoroughly fishy flies.
